The Time for Silence is Over Church
It's time for a team huddle. Our biggest problem is not what it looks like. We boast of our wealth and accomplishments. We boast in our meager understanding. We stand up for causes we deem worthy, but how much do we stand for God? How much credit do we give to Him?

Do We Have Too Much to Lose?
It's that time of year again when we make promises we intend to keep because we know we need to make some changes. So what's the problem? Contrary to popular opinion, the power of you is not that powerful. The catalyst for real change is the work of the Holy Spirit.

In Case You Need a Reminder This Christmas
This has been an interesting year. For you, perhaps that’s an understatement. Every December, I ask the Lord to give me a word for the upcoming year. Something I can write in my journal, pray over, and consider throughout the year. When Christmas rolls around again, I look back to see how and where that word came into play.

Salvation is Not a Punch Card
Deep in each one of us dwells the question of eternity. For some, it lies buried under hardened layers of rejection, loss, anger, and doubt. For others, it’s suppressed by pride, independence, and self-sufficiency. Layers that look like “the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things,” according to Mark 4:19.

A Prayer for Our Nation
I've been doing a lot of praying lately, and I thought maybe you have too. There is power in prayer. There is peace in prayer. There is hope in prayer because God answers prayer. Care to join me?

How God Feels About Divorce and You
I need to level with you. I argued with God about writing this post. When I turned the page and saw that the topic of Mark 10:1-12 focused on divorce, I wanted to skip it. But all of Scripture is profitable, right?

How Serious Should We Take Sin?
Do you know what I think? No, you don’t, so I’ll tell you. I don’t think we talk about sin enough. I don’t think we confess our sins like God wants us to. And I don’t think we really care. Sure, we seek God’s grace-filled forgiveness when we remember, but when we don’t remember, oh well. Better luck next time, I guess. Except when we read Jesus’ words in Mark 9:42-50 “oh well” is just not the tone.

Don’t Be a Weak Woman
So, what’s your definition of a strong woman? (And I don’t mean physically.) Is she you? Do you see yourself as strong? Is she unwilling to take no for an answer? Is she headstrong, fashion forward, owns her own business, and takes the world by storm?

A Different Kind of Stimulus Package
We’re all about stimulus these days. It’s our public duty to spend money, right? At least that’s what I keep telling my husband. It’s up to us to eat out. It’s up to us to go through that drive-thru and support that local business and get this economy going again. Come on, mama wants some new furniture. But do you know what’s more important than stimulating the economy? Stimulating the gospel out into a world in desperate need of good news.
